The Nokia 1100 was an entry-level handset that was released to the market late in the year of 2003. And, you will be surprised to know that the Nokia 1100 is the largest selling handset in the world by now. In point of  fact, with 250 million units sold, the Nokia 1100 has become the best selling mobile phone in the world. At the same time, it has also become the best selling electronic device for consumers in the world.

The Nokia 1100 did not have a snapdragon processor, a coloured touchscreen, dual cameras or a curved screen, but, nonetheless, it did have a built-in flashlight, 36 pre-installed monophonic ringtones, no-slip rubber grips, interchangeable covers and a dust-proof case. In addition, the handset could store 50 messages and 50 contacts and had a stand-by time of 400 hours between charges. Apart these, the most attractive feature of the Nokia 1100 was Snakes II and Space Impact, 8-bit games, which were extremely popular on that time. The Nokia 1100 was discontinued in 2009.

The Nokia 3210 was released in the year of 1999. During its lifespan, the Nokia 3210 sold 160 million units. The Nokia 3210 was, no doubt, a highly popular GSM cellular phone which introduced us to the Snake game.

In fact, it was succeed by the Nokia 3310. The Nokia 3210 was one of the phones without an antennae. It had great battery power and life and had swappable covers in many colours. The handset was originally designed with a vibrate alert function. It was also equipped with Green back light and T9 feature which allows the user to insert sentence and word punctuation using the key- ‘1’.    

The notable feature of the Nokia 3210 was ‘Picture messages’ sent via the SMS texting service, by which users were allowed to send pre-installed pictures to one another. ‘Happy Birthday’ picture was very popular. The handset measures 123.8mm x 50.5mm x 16.7mm and has a total weight of 153 grams.

The Nokia 6600 smartphone was released in October 2003. As a matter of fact, the Nokia 6600 was the most advanced product ever launched by Nokia at the time of release. The cost of the handset was approximately €600. The smartphone runs on Symbian OS based applications. The Nokia 6600 smartphone also featured a VGA camera, a music player and a video player and 6 MB internal memory. The company has still sold 150 million units of it.

The Nokia 6600 was released in two colour variants- black and white and full black to the general public. While, for promotional purposes blue and white and pink colour schemes were produced . This high-end model of Nokia was equipped with wireless connectivity with Bluetooth and IrDA.

The Nokia 6600 offered also an XHTML browser for storing personal information in an encrypted storage and a wallet application to ease the process of making online payments. On the plus side, users could access e-mail and, at the same time, streaming could also be performed over both GPRS and HSCSD. The Nokia 6600 weighs 122 grams and provides a talk-time of up to 4 hours and standby time up to 10 days.

The Nokia 1600 mobile phone was released in 2006. The Nokia 1600 sold 130 million units. The phone was designed as prepaid mobile phone services and it was related to the Nokia 1100. The main highlight of the Nokia 1600 was its speaking clock feature that could be activated by pressing the * button during the display of the home screen. It runs on Symbian OS.

In addition, the mobile phone was equipped with 14 pre-defined themes with 14 wallpapers and menu backgrounds, 200 Entries Phone Book, SMS, a ringtone composer and a basic calculator which could perform only multiplication, subtraction, addition and division.   

The Nokia 1600 mobile phone did not have camera, Bluetooth, Internet, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and Music Player. However, it included 3 pre-installed games – Snake Xenzia, Dice and Cricket Cup. The dimension of the Nokia 1600 is 104 x 45 x 17 mm and weighs 85 gram. It was equipped with a 900 mAh Li – Ion  battery that provides 5 hours of talk-time and 450 hours of stand-by time.

The Nokia 5230 xpressmusic smartphone was released in November 2009. The smartphone features a 3.2 inch resistive touchscreen and 3G internet support, notwithstanding the smartphone lacks support for Wi-Fi because of its status as an entry-level handset. Around 150 million units of the Nokia 5230 xpressmusic smartphone sold yet.  

The smartphone runs on Symbian v9.4 OS. In addition, the Nokia 5230 xpressmusic smartphone houses 434 MHz ARM 11 processor along with 128 MB RAM and 70 MB inbuilt memory, which is expandable via MicroSD up to 16 GB. Besides, the smartphone supports Camera with digital zoom, A-GPS, Bluetooth, Email, MMS, FM Radio, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Alarm clock, Reminders, Calculator, Calendar and full HTML internet browsing.

One of the main attractions of the Nokia 5230 xpressmusic is its Music Player and Video Player features which are equipped with MP3, MP4, MPEG4, RealVideo and so on. The maximum music playback time of the smartphone is 30 hours.

The dimension of the Nokia 5230 xpressmusic is 111 x 51.7 x 14.5/15.5 mm and weighs 115 gram. Moreover, it is equipped with a 1320mAh Li-Ion battery which delivers 4.5 hours of talk-time and 18 days of stand-by time.
